Relational practices focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and collaboration. Client-centered principles prioritize the client’s autonomy, choices, and self-directed growth.

Can we be friends outside of the therapy room? No. It is unethical for the client and therapist to be friends. Developing a friendship can blur professional boundaries and compromise the objectivity and effectiveness of the therapeutic process. If we meet outside the therapy room, I will not initiate any greeting so that you don’t feel obligated to explain how you know me. If you make the first contact, I will greet you whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
-
What is your intake process?Step 1 – I provide a free 15-minute introductory call in which I clarify clients’ concerns and understand their goals. It also helps to assess whether the therapist and client are a good fit for each other. Further, I also explain how therapy works, what the client can expect from the process, and what therapy approaches might be used. Step 2 – I will share intake and consent forms once we agree to work together. An intake form is a document that clients fill out before their first session. It gathers important information about the client's personal and psychological history. A consent form is a document that safeguards both the client's and therapist’s interests. It outlines the rights and expectations of the therapist and client and includes information on confidentiality, fees and payment, cancellation policy, etc. Any queries regarding the form are addressed before the client signs the form. Step 3 – A mutual time and date will be discussed with the client for our first session together.
-
Is the information shared during therapy sessions kept confidential? All the information shared in the sessions is strictly confidential unless the client is an immediate danger to themselves or others. Only in such circumstances, the therapist may need to get in touch with the emergency contact to ensure the safety and well-being of the client. To maintain quality of work, the therapist undergoes supervision and training, and any identifying information of the client is protected to ensure anonymity.
-
What is the age range you work with?I work with adults ranging in age from 21 to 55 years of age.
-
How many sessions does one need to feel okay? The number of therapy sessions required can vary significantly depending on several factors, including the nature and severity of the issues being addressed, the therapeutic approach used, and the client's goals. No fixed number of sessions applies to everyone. Short-term goals could be achieved in a shorter time as they focus on addressing specific problems. However, some clients prefer long-term, in-depth work which may last several months to several years. These approaches delve into deeper, underlying issues and aim to promote personal growth and self-awareness.
